I don't often make images of wild flowers because...err, well because. Anyway, I've been seeing these flowers all across the levels recently, so one morning a few weeks ago I stopped on my way to work and made a few images, of which this is one.
One of the advantages of working hand-held is that of speed. If I'd had the camera on the tri-pod, I wouldn't have been able to make this image of a shield bug before it crawled off somewhere.
Generally, I strive for clarity. This image isn't sharp, but it works anyway, I think. Funnily enough, I always saw it as a monochrome image, but it really didn't work when I desaturated it.
Another image in the hard-hitting reportage series that could be entitled "colour images of flowers in our garden". This is of a flower that's decided to grow in amongst the lavender hedge that runs down one side of the lawn.
Enough of all that mucking about with mono, here's a colour image of a daylily. I've never managed to make a successful mono image of one of these flowers.
