This image was made in the walled garden at Lacock Abbey - all the other plants were pretty much devoid of foliage.
This really is the final image that I'm going to post from this set - something different for next time, I think.
Just to prove that this blog isn't over-planned...I posted a couple of images of this scene at Lacock Abbey last week. I think that the portrait framing is different enough from the previous images to warrant another post.
One more image from Lacock to go, then we're onto something else.
Another image from the Lacock Abbey set, this time of the house itself, viewed from the north-east - the pool that featured in my previous posts is behind me. As you can see, we were there late-ish on a January afternoon, hence the raking light.
Yet again, I thought that I'd managed to make an image free of people, only to find during post that there was someone in the frame. The usual prize - an honourable mention in a future post - to anyone who can spot the interloper.
This is essentially the same scene at Lacock Abbey as the previous image that I posted, albeit with a wider field of view and a mono treatment. I've used a red channel conversion to give a slightly 'infra-red' look.
Over the New Year we found ourselves at Lacock Abbey for a trip out on the one day of the holiday with decent weather. There was bright sunshine and no breeze to speak of.
For a change, I took my Alpha 77 with my Tamron super-zoom attached - it usually lives on my Alpha 550, which I use as my landscape camera. I don't really know why I did this - it may be that I felt that I should visit Fox Talbot's home with nothing less than my best camera.
Whatever, round the back of the brew house, I found this pond where I made a number of images. I made a few with the wrong ISO setting before I realised and corrected it. This is one of my favourites. I'll post some of the others shortly.
So, we've had Christmas, the weather has been pretty ho-hum, and various family stuff has been going on. The upshot is that I haven't made a lot of images recently.
Anyway, as a bit of a stop gap, here's an image from the Cheddar Reservoir set that I made back in November. I've attempted a different treatment here, high key rather than low key.
Anyway, some new stuff next time, hopefully.
Okay, this really is the last image from the SS Great Britain set that I'm going to post. Something different next time, I promise.
