Sun In An Empty Room

Mono image of a window made using an Olympus Pen-F.

This is one of those images of which I'm completely unconvinced as to its value.

So, I'll limit myself to saying that it was made in our flat in Malvern a few weeks ago, that the window is West facing and that the room isn't actually empty.

Oh, and a Happy New Year.

Up Against the Wall

Having brought things up to date with my previous post, I've gone back in time a short way to the end of August, just before we left Somerset. At the time we made a couple of abortive visits to the walled garden at Cannington, on the second of which we turned up to find the place closed.

However, I noticed these plant, which were growing in front of the white wall of one of the college campus buildings. I made several images and these are the best of bunch, as I didn't manage the depth of field very well. I was using my Olympus Pen F, which I find less intuitive to use than the Sony, so that's my excuse.

Taking an Early Bath

Finally, the Kew series is done. The following images were made during a recent-ish trip to the Roman baths in, er, Bath.

I should say, because I've probably written about it on this blog in the past, and I would hate to be seen as inconsistent, that I really don't think much of street photography as a genre. But I have a general aim of including more people in my photographs and the baths themselves didn't provide much opportunity for photography, so I decided to concentrate on the people.

Who are you looking at?

I like to think that the couple in the next image - I assume that they're a couple, they're ignoring each other, so its quite likely - are actually texting each other.

Status update: I'm looking at a dead guy's backside...

Hello, is that the past?...Yeah, this is the future calling...no, I haven't been in touch with the present for a while...

Eden Plant

Colour image of a plant made at the Eden project using an Olympus Pen-F.

Another image from the Eden Project, from the Mediterranean Biome this time. I took my Pen-F rather than cart my Sony DSLT around all day.

Spirit of Eden

Mono image of flowers made in the tropical biome at the Eden Project using an Olympus Pen F.

We made another visit to the Eden Project over the Christmas holiday. On this occasion I took my Pen F, rather than lugging my Alpha 77 about.

OM Nom Nom Nom Nom

Mono image of an Olympus Pen F body with an OM Zuiko MC Auto-S 50mm lens and a Beschoi adaptor - front view.

My Olympus Pen F body with an Olympus OM Zuiko MC Auto-S 50mm 1:1.8 lens and a Beschoi OM - M4/3 adaptor. The Hoya Skylight filter seen in the images is contemporary with the lens.

The lens is one of a pair that I inherited from my father - he had an Olympus OM10 body. Neither will have had a photograph taken trough them in over thirty years, I suspect.

Both images were made using a Google Pixel 2, with some post-processing using GIMP.

Olympus Mons

Colour image of the Liverpool Eye, made using an Olympus Pen-F.

I have a new camera, and Olympus Pen F. This is one of the first images I made using it, during a recent visit to Liverpool
