The Turn-Around

Mono image of a crocus, made using a Sony Alpha 77.

I don't usually turn images around quickly, but this was taken in our garden at around 13:30 today.

Spring Break

Colour image of a crocus made using a Sony Alpha 77.

Another image of a spring flower. Pickings have been rather slight recently - hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly.

Crocus Pocus

Back in Somerset, Spring is still underway. I liked the slightly anthropomorphic quality of this crocus in our garden.

Focus on the Crocus

As promised, a return to macro photography, with yet another image of a crocus from our back garden, made a few days ago.

Hocus Crocus II

Another image of a crocus from the same session as the previous image.

More Sony imaging product announcements today, with headlines being grabbed by the A6000. If you've been paying attention - and there's no reason why you should - you'll know that this naming convention signifies an e-mount camera. And so it does, as this model replaces the NEX6 and NEX7. Given the lack of significant technical changes, the cynical amongst us might conclude that this update has been motivated by the desire to remove NEX branded cameras from the range as quickly as possible.

A-mount watchers will also remember that NEX7 launched alongside the Alpha 77, which is the same camera in a DSLT form factor. This time round, an a-mount announcement is notable by its absence, although promised for April.

Hocus Crocus

Another bright and chilly Sunday morning spent in the garden resulted in this image of a crocus.

Spring Has Sprung...(Reprise)

Another image from the same session as the previous post. This is better, I think, and I may not have posted that one if I'd processed this one first. But that's the pressure of front line journalism etc, etc.

Spring Has Sprung...

...and I've managed to take a photograph that's worth posting!

In my humble opinion anyway.

The spring flowers generally provide a happy hunting ground for my photography. Over the years I've made any of number of images of these purple crocuses. And this is certainly one of them. Given the colours in this image I couldn't bring myself to desaturate it, so here it is in all its glory.
